A Little Bit About Lot of Bit
Hi, I’m Hadassa!
I’m Brazilian, a former teacher, a longtime caregiver,
and now the creator behind
Lot of Bit Books.
For years, I had the privilege of seeing the world through the eyes of the children I cared for, while sharing a little piece of Brazil with them.
Portuguese found its way into our games, meals, music, and stories.
There was always a chance for me to ask:
“Do you know how we say that in Portuguese?
Where a little idea began…
One of my favorite memories came from two little boys I cared for almost four years.
I made them a simple Portuguese vocabulary book using pictures of animals.
I would say an animal’s name in Portuguese, and they would race to find the right animal and repeat it back to me.
Before long, they knew the whole book!
So naturally, I added more…
And then more.
I wasn’t trying to create a children’s book back then. I was simply trying to make learning fun for two kids I loved spending my days with.
Years later, I found myself thinking about that little homemade book and wondering if I could create that same experience for other children.
That idea became Lot of Bit Books!
And while those two little boys helped spark the idea,
every child I cared for left a little piece of inspiration with me.
That’s why each book I create is dedicated to one of them.
It’s my little way of saying, “You were part of this, too.”
Now, I get to share these books with you!
